The Day Begins... at Sundown

Read pages 198-199 in Life Without Lack

With journal in hand (or use the printable version of this page), prayerfully think through the following questions.

  • How can you clear your evening calendar as you prepare for your night with Jesus?

If it is evening now jump into the following two experiences. If it is not evening, carve out time to do this tonight (or at your next opportunity). Put an appointment or alarm on your phone if that is helpful.

  • Reach out to resolve conflicts before you rest. Lift these efforts up in prayer to the Lord. Pray that God will be working to help resolve those conflicts that you have in your life.

  • Take time to reflect on your day and life, to praise God, and to dream of what is to come.

I Peter 5:7

7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Rest in Faith

  • Is sleeping well a problem for you? Take this time to prayerfully explore what could be getting in the way and how you could make improvements.

  • What measures can you taken for you to get the sleep you need?

  • Tonight, and as you retire to bed consider preparing to meet with God first thing when you wake by reading pages 201-203 in Life Without Lack to prepare your mind for what the morning holds. In the morning you can start your day with Waking up with Jesus.

  • This is a wonderful way to fall asleep in prayer as you look forward to and savor the thought of meeting with Jesus in the morning. You can also use prayers such as the Lord’s Prayer, Psalm 23, and Psalm 4:8 to lead you into restful sleep.

Psalm 4:8

8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
