COLORED CARNATIONS
Change Starts Inside
Our goal here at Colored Carnations is to do our part in making the world a better place by helping you find and explore practices that will let you experience the abundant life that comes when Christ changes you from the inside out.
Why the name “Colored Carnations"? We want our lives to be beautiful, similar to colored carnations given in a bouquet or corsage. How did they become that way? If we were to try to color them at home left to our own devices, we might paint them. This is not a permanent change though; a little rain could wash that away. But, if you put food coloring in your carnations’ vase and they draw up the water, their color will change and stay changed. This is just what we need: something we can draw up inside of us continually. With our lives in Jesus, true change starts inside.
Letting Christ Change Your Life
These spiritual practices are designed with a one (or more) a day-ish approach in mind. I originally organized them to be offered in a two-day retreat setting to then be brought home and integrated into daily life. This website now brings them straight to you with tips for preparing, step by step instructions to guide you through, while providing guidance on flexibility to explore and adapt for what works in your life.
SPENDING YOUR DAYS WITH JESUS
The best life!
Allow Dallas Willard to walk you through the prayerful planning process of spending a day with Jesus, from the eighth chapter of in his incredible book, Life without Lack. This process helps us understand the beauty of spending a day with Jesus and this website will guide you through creating concrete plans for your own life.
RENEW RETREAT: TRANSFORMING YOUR MIND AND HEART
A two-day silent retreat for a guided time with Jesus, learning and growing in faith and spiritual practices that you can incorporate into your daily life. Opportunity will also be provided to create a plan to spend a day back at home (and hopefully all of your days) with Jesus, based on the work of Dallas Willard.
Another option to consider is a Private Mini-Retreat
